Fintech & Payments

How do we reconcile a payment when the bank response is missing?

Designing connected payment experiences through banking APIs, integration architecture, payment messaging, and transaction workflows.

THE CHALLENGE

Make complexity manageable.

  • Fragmented payment interfaces and inconsistent messages
  • Ambiguous transaction states and difficult reconciliation
  • Retries that create duplicate processing

PRACTICAL DELIVERABLES

Clarity you can build on.

  • Integration contracts and message mappings
  • Payment state models and reconciliation design
  • Failure-mode analysis and test strategy

ILLUSTRATIVE REFERENCE FLOW · NOT A CLIENT DEPLOYMENT

When is it safe to retry a payment?

In this example, the rail adapter loses the reply after submitting a payment. The orchestration service keeps the original reference and marks the outcome as pending. The next step depends on whether the provider can look up that reference and how long it remembers retry keys.

How is the technology selected?

We evaluate existing investments, team capabilities, integration requirements, and operational costs before choosing tools.

What would help us understand your integration?

Bring a redacted sequence of events for one payment with an uncertain outcome. Include what the customer saw, which references survived the timeout, and how operations resolved it.
