Can the customer give the slot back?
A booking confirmation proves only half the journey. Try one appointment and see what happens to availability when the customer changes their mind.
BROWSER PROTOTYPE · ONE APPOINTMENT TYPE
Test the 10:00 slot.
Acceptance criterion: a customer can book the appointment, cancel it, and leave the slot available for the next person. This is a fictional appointment.

- Untested
Start with the only available appointment. The release criterion has not been tested.
Decide what this test can tell you.
For this first slice, a reviewer can observe the customer’s booking reference and the next customer’s available slot. If cancellation fails, a success message would hide an occupied slot. A useful prototype exposes both states so the team can agree on recovery before adding more appointment types.
What to test with a person next
Ask someone to book and then cancel without coaching. After the failed attempt, ask whether they believe the appointment still exists and what they would do next. Their answer helps distinguish a working retry mechanism from a recovery path people can actually find.
